February 28
Such a lovely watery blue sky, sunshiny day with the promise of Spring that, despite a morning in Sheringham, we did the Horsey run in the afternoon. We saw two different families of three Cranes, one set near Waxham Great Barn and the other south of Horsey Mill. Scores of Red-throated Divers in flight and on the sea at Winterton, a few Gannets and one Black-throated Diver. We drove home along the back lane from Sea Palling seeing two Common Buzzards flying north being hassled by corvids.
I downloaded the first photographs taken in the back garden with my DCM, they were better than I expected considering the difficulties I had seeing well on the screen. A feeding Greenfinch was the best.
