Another disappointing number seen on an otherwise enjoyable day. Patchy yet irregular fog hampered viewing in the early morning, couldn't see much beyond the pool at Abbey. Low tide at Snettisham but the mud was full of distant waders including a smattering of lovely Grey Plovers. A juvenile Whitethroat in pristine plumage flitted through the bushes.
Much of the time at Holme was spent in the Broadwater Hide, drinking coffee, eating elevenses and talking to Sophie. One Greenshank on the small mud island and a Green Sandpiper flew in. The NOA reserve area was empty to-day.
We miss the walk at Titchwell which usually adds 10+ species, roll on the path re-opening.
We were both very lacking in sleep and retired home soon after mid-day.
