A leisurely start to our first full day on Scilly, another warm, blue and sunny one.An amble to Old Town via the dump and Carngwarval school before the climb past Tolman to Porth Minnick. The Rosy Starling had just flown. We walked back to lean on a gate when a birder already there, called the bird perched in a bush top. Excellent. We added a Greenshank and a Grey Heron whilst sitting enjoying the sunshine and the views before walking to lunch at Tolmans cafe.
Lower Moors pool was covered in green gunk, just a single moorhen and a snipe. Several Chiffchaffs calling as we walked to the road before returning to Hughtown via a chat with Vicky. Now 83 and still walking the island.
